What it is
The Chaffoteaux 60078242-06 is a heat exchanger used across the Celtic and Sterling gas boiler families. It transfers heat from the combustion circuit into the domestic water and heating circuit. This component supersedes the earlier code 7824206.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Water weeping or dripping from the heat exchanger body or its connections
- Repeated boiler lockout or overheat faults traced to the heat exchanger
- Kettling, banging or rumbling noises during heating or hot water demand
- Poor or inconsistent domestic hot water output despite correct burner operation
- Visible corrosion, scale build-up or deformation of the exchanger
Before you order
- Confirm your appliance model and variant against the fitment list above
- Check the part number on the existing component, including the superseded code 7824206
- Inspect the surrounding seals, pipework and connections for condition before fitting
- Assess system water quality and scale history, as these affect heat exchanger life
