What it is
The Chaffoteaux 60049378 is a pilot injector with a 0.23 mm orifice, specified for natural gas. It meters the gas supply to the pilot burner on a range of Chaffoteaux gas boilers, including the Britony, Corvec and CELT families. It is a serviceable item within the pilot assembly and is renewed when the pilot flame cannot be lit or held.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Pilot flame fails to light, or extinguishes shortly after ignition
- Pilot flame is weak, yellow, or visibly smaller than expected
- Pilot flame lifts away from the burner or burns erratically
- Soot or debris is visible around the injector orifice
- Boiler repeatedly locks out because the pilot flame cannot be proven
