What it is
The Chaffoteaux 60044550 is a 3/4 inch water return service tap used on Celtic and Sterling gas boiler models. It sits on the water return circuit and allows the heating engineer to isolate that leg of the system for servicing or component replacement. It is listed under isolation valves within the gas boiler spares range.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Water weeping or dripping from the tap body or spindle
- The tap will not shut off fully, so the return leg cannot be isolated
- The handle is stiff, seized or turns without operating the valve
- Scale or corrosion visible around the body or connections
- Persistent dampness or staining beneath the tap
Before you order
- Confirm your boiler model and GC number against the manufacturer's parts list
- Check the existing tap is a 3/4 inch water return service tap
- Inspect the surrounding pipework and connections for damage before fitting
- Verify the part number 60044550 matches the item being replaced
