What it is
The Chaffoteaux 60043680-08 is a thermostat pocket, designated LG 140, used on Flexiflame gas boilers. The pocket forms the housing that holds the boiler thermostat sensor in contact with the system water, allowing the control to read flow temperature. It is listed under thermostats within Chaffoteaux gas boiler spares.
Signs this part needs replacing
- The boiler thermostat reads low or fluctuates, with the pocket no longer holding the sensor firmly against the pocket wall.
- The pocket is corroded, scaled or pitted, reducing heat transfer to the sensor.
- Water weeps or tracks from the pocket joint or thread.
- The sensor sits loose in the pocket, causing short cycling or delayed burner response.
- The pocket has been disturbed during servicing and no longer seals correctly.
Before you order
- Confirm your appliance model against the fit list above, including the pre- or post-September 1988 date band where shown.
- Check the existing pocket is marked LG 140 or carries part number 60043680-08.
- Confirm the thermostat sensor and its retaining method are undamaged before refitting.
- Have the boiler isolated, drained and cooled before removing the old pocket.
