What it is

The Chaffoteaux 60036246 is a gas control knob used on Britony 2 and Corvec SH12 boiler models. It fits onto the gas valve spindle and provides the manual control point for turning the gas supply on, off and through its settings. The knob is a serviceable control component, replaced when the original becomes damaged or fails to grip the spindle.

Signs this part needs replacing

  • The knob is cracked, split or has broken away from its insert
  • The knob turns freely on the spindle without operating the gas valve
  • The internal splines or flats are worn and the knob slips under load
  • The knob is stiff, seized or difficult to turn through its full range
  • The knob is missing, leaving the gas valve spindle exposed

Before you order

  • Confirm your appliance model against the fitment list above
  • Check the existing knob and gas valve spindle for damage before fitting a replacement
  • Verify the superseded code 3624600 does not apply to your appliance variant
  • Check the appliance data badge for the model and GC number where shown
