What it is
The Chaffoteaux 60034346 is a thermoelectric valve used across a range of Chaffoteaux gas boilers, including the Britony, Celtic, Corvec, Challenger and Sterling families. It sits within the boiler's gas control and flame supervision circuit, holding the gas path open while a flame is proven and shutting it when the flame is lost. This valve supersedes Chaffoteaux code 3434600.
Signs this part needs replacing
- The pilot or ignition flame goes out as soon as the control is released
- The boiler locks out or fails to stay lit after ignition
- No gas reaches the main burner despite a flame being established
- Intermittent flame failure or unexplained shutdowns during operation
- Repeated lockouts that clear only temporarily after a reset
