What it is
The Chaffoteaux 60022639 gland is a sealing component used on Chaffoteaux gas boilers. It seals around a moving spindle or shaft to prevent water or gas leakage at the point where the spindle passes through the valve or body. It is listed by the manufacturer under gas boiler spares.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Water weeping or dripping from around the spindle or shaft it seals
- Persistent dampness, staining or corrosion at the valve or body
- The spindle feels stiff, gritty or difficult to turn
- Visible deterioration, hardening or splitting of the existing gland
- Leakage that returns shortly after the gland is tightened
Before you order
- Confirm your appliance model against the manufacturer's parts list before ordering
- Check the existing part number 60022639 matches the component fitted
- Inspect the surrounding valve or body for wear, as the gland may not be the only failed component
- Note the appliance variant or modification where relevant, as fitment can differ between builds
