What it is
The Sime 6001400 is a high limit thermostat with manual reset, used across a range of Sime gas boilers. It monitors boiler temperature and cuts the burner on the safety limit, requiring a manual reset before the appliance will run again. It is a safety-critical control, not a user-adjustable operating thermostat.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Boiler locks out repeatedly and will not fire until the reset button is pressed
- The reset button no longer latches or feels loose and unresponsive
- Boiler overheats or the safety limit trips shortly after start-up
- No heating or hot water because the limit stat is holding the burner off
- The thermostat contacts read open or intermittent when tested
Before you order
- Confirm your boiler model and GC number against the fit list above
- Check the existing thermostat part number and reset type before removal
- Isolate the electrical supply and verify the appliance is safe to work on
- Confirm whether the fault lies with the limit stat or with the boiler's circulation and controls
