What it is

The Alpha cable for the second stage valve is a wiring assembly used on Alpha Ocean Secura 4200 gas boilers. It links the second stage gas valve to the boiler control circuit, carrying the signal that opens the valve when second stage operation is called. It is supplied under part number 6.8413721.

Signs this part needs replacing

  • The boiler fails to fire or drops out when second stage demand is called
  • The second stage valve does not operate when the control board signals it
  • Visible damage to the cable insulation, chafing or exposed conductors
  • Loose, corroded or heat-damaged connector terminals at either end
  • Intermittent faults that clear or change when the cable is moved

Before you order

  • Confirm the boiler model and GC number from the appliance rating plate
  • Check the connector type and pin arrangement against the cable already fitted
  • Inspect the valve and control board terminals for damage before fitting a replacement cable
