What it is
The wiring box rear cover is a manufacturer-supplied enclosure panel for the Alpha 500 E boiler. It closes off the rear of the wiring box, shielding the electrical terminals and PCB connections from dust, moisture and accidental contact. It forms part of the boiler's control housing assembly.
Signs this part needs replacing
- The cover is cracked, warped or broken, leaving the wiring box exposed
- Fixing points or screw lugs are damaged so the cover will not seat correctly
- Signs of heat damage, scorching or discolouration on the cover
- Moisture or debris ingress into the wiring box because the cover no longer seals
- The cover has been removed and cannot be refitted securely
