What it is

The Alpha selector switch knob is the control knob fitted to Alpha 240 and 280 series gas boilers. It operates the summer/winter selector, allowing the user to switch the appliance between heating and hot water only operation. The knob mounts onto the selector switch spindle on the boiler control panel.

Signs this part needs replacing

  • The knob is cracked, split or broken and no longer grips the spindle
  • The knob has come loose and spins without operating the selector
  • The knob is missing from the control panel
  • The selector cannot be moved between summer and winter positions
  • The knob turns but the boiler does not respond to the mode change
