What it is
The pilot glass gasket is a sealing component for the sight glass assembly on Alpha gas boilers. It sits between the pilot glass and its mounting face to maintain a gas-tight seal at the viewing point. It is listed by Alpha under part number 6.5401610.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Visible cracking, hardening or perishing of the gasket material
- Staining, soot marks or moisture tracking around the sight glass
- Condensation or discolouration behind the pilot glass
- A smell of gas or a failed tightness test at the sight glass assembly
- Unstable or disturbed pilot flame visible through the glass
Before you order
- Confirm your appliance model and, where shown, its GC number against the fitment list
- Check the part number on the existing gasket or the manufacturer's parts list for your boiler
- Inspect the glass and its seating face for damage before refitting, as a scored face will not seal
- Confirm whether the sight glass itself also requires replacement
