What it is

The Alpha 6.5109640 is a lower rear support bar used on Alpha 240 and 280 series gas boilers. It forms part of the lower rear chassis structure, supporting and locating the appliance casing and internal components at the back of the boiler. It is listed for CB/SY applications within the Alpha range.

Signs this part needs replacing

  • Visible corrosion, rust scaling or thinning of the bar
  • Bending or distortion of the bar, often after the boiler has been moved or worked on
  • Casing panels that no longer sit square or align correctly at the rear
  • Rattling or movement from the lower rear of the casing when the boiler is running
  • Mounting points or fixings that have cracked, elongated or pulled free

Before you order

  • Confirm your boiler model against the fitment list above
  • Check the GC number on the appliance data badge where one is quoted
  • Compare the existing support bar and its mounting points with the part number 6.5109640
  • Inspect the fixings and surrounding chassis for damage that may also need attention
