What it is

The clip secures the primary heat exchanger on Alpha 240 and 280 series gas boilers. It is a manufacturer-supplied retaining component that holds the heat exchanger body in position against its mounting and sealing faces. This version is supplied for units from serial number A52401191 onwards.

Signs this part needs replacing

  • Visible corrosion or pitting on the clip
  • Clip distorted, cracked or no longer holding the heat exchanger securely
  • Water weeping or staining around the heat exchanger mounting points
  • Heat exchanger movement when checked during service
  • Clip missing after previous work on the appliance

Before you order

  • Confirm the boiler serial number is A52401191 or later, as this clip is specified from that number
  • Check the appliance model against the fitment list, including GC number where shown
  • Inspect the heat exchanger seals and mounting faces for damage before refitting
  • Verify how many clips the installation requires before ordering
