What it is
The Alpha Seal Kit 775 (part number 6.1000775) is a set of seals for the joints on the automatic air vent, NTC sensor, pressure gauge, heating expansion vessel and cable entry on Alpha 240 and 280 series gas boilers. It is used when these connections are disturbed during servicing or repair, or when an existing seal has hardened and started to weep.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Water weeping or a damp trace around the automatic air vent, pressure gauge or expansion vessel connection
- Crusting or limescale staining at the NTC sensor thread
- System pressure loss with no visible leak elsewhere
- Seals that are hardened, flattened or cracked after a joint has been opened
- Air being drawn in, causing noisy operation or repeated venting
