What it is
The Altecnic 1 1/2 MxM RPZ Valve is a reduced pressure zone valve used for backflow prevention in water supply pipework. It has male threaded connections at both 1 1/2" ports and is listed for use with Altecnic gauges. Its function is to maintain a reduced pressure zone so that reverse flow cannot contaminate the upstream supply.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Water discharging continuously from the relief or drain port during normal operation
- The valve fails to hold its reduced pressure zone when tested
- Visible leaks from the valve body, test ports or threaded connections
- Scale, corrosion or debris build-up around the valve ports affecting operation
