What it is
The motorized valve body is a hydraulic component used on Ariston gas boilers, where it controls the direction of water flow between heating and hot water circuits. It is listed for the Ariston Genus 27 BFFI UK and DIA System 27 RFFI appliance families. The body carries the valve internals and provides the mounting point for the motor head.
Signs this part needs replacing
- No hot water or no heating, with the boiler running but the diverter not changing over between circuits
- The motor head runs but the valve does not move, or the spindle is stiff, seized or leaking
- Water weeping from the valve body, its seals or the spindle area
- Intermittent hot water that fluctuates with draw-off, indicating the valve is not seating correctly
- Fault code or lockout behaviour linked to diverter or valve position on the appliance
Before you order
- Confirm the boiler model against the fit list, as the serial number range matters on Genus 27 BFFI UK appliances
- Check whether the fault lies with the motor head or the valve body, as they are separate components
- Have the appliance model and serial number to hand before ordering
