What it is

The BOILER DRAIN VALVE is a Hamworthy spare part for the Milborne range of wall hung condensing boilers. It provides a controlled drain point on the boiler, allowing the appliance and its water circuit to be emptied safely during service or maintenance work. This part is listed against the Hamworthy Milborne 501 and 502 models.

Signs this part needs replacing

  • Water weeping or dripping from the drain valve outlet when closed
  • The valve spindle is seized, stiff or rounded, so the valve cannot be operated
  • The valve fails to shut off fully, leaving a continued trickle of water
  • Scale, sludge or corrosion visible around the valve body or seating
  • Water escaping from the valve gland or body during normal running
