What it is
The Ariston 571730 is a lever-operated safety valve used in Ariston water heating appliances. It opens to relieve excess pressure from the cylinder or vessel, protecting the appliance and its pipework from over-pressurisation. The lever allows the valve to be lifted manually during servicing and checks.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Water weeping or discharging continuously from the valve outlet when the system is below its set pressure
- The valve fails to hold pressure, with the system losing pressure repeatedly
- The lever is stiff, seized or does not return to its seated position after being lifted
- Scale or debris visible around the valve seat, causing it to pass water
- Discharge pipework running warm or wet when no over-pressure condition exists
