What it is
The Altecnic C1 Inhibitor - Dirtmag Aerosol is a C1-grade corrosion inhibitor supplied in aerosol form, produced by Altecnic for the Dirtmag IQ™ appliance range. It is applied to a heating system to protect the water circuit against corrosion and the build-up of sludge that leads to reduced efficiency and blocked components.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Radiators giving cold spots at the base or uneven heat across the system
- Black or brown discolouration in system water drained at a radiator or drain cock
- Increased circulating noise from the boiler or pump
- Sludge or magnetite collecting on the dirt separator, indicating the system is no longer inhibited
- Repeated drain-downs producing dirty water after recent refilling
