What it is
The Ariston 570571 is a 1/2 inch brass cap used as a blanking or sealing fitting on Ariston Genus 27 BFFI boilers. It closes off a 1/2 inch threaded port on the appliance, keeping the hydraulic circuit sealed at that point. The cap is manufactured in brass for resistance to corrosion and to withstand the temperatures and pressures found in a domestic heating system.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Visible weeping or a damp trace around the cap when the system is under pressure
- Green or white corrosion product on the brass, or heavy limescale build-up on the threads
- Rounded or chewed flats on the cap, making it difficult to tighten or remove
- Staining or water marks on the casing or pipework directly below the cap
- Cross-threaded or damaged threads that will not seal correctly
