What it is

The Hamworthy 563901281 is an actuator assembly, also referred to as a damper motor, used on Hamworthy Purwell floor standing boilers. It drives the diverter valve to move the appliance between heating and hot water operation. This version is designed for Gruner white motors only.

Signs this part needs replacing

  • The diverter valve does not move between heating and hot water positions
  • The boiler fails to respond to a heating or hot water demand
  • The actuator motor runs continuously or makes unusual noise
  • Visible damage, overheating or moisture around the actuator head
  • Repeated lockouts or fault codes linked to valve position

Before you order

  • Confirm the existing motor is a Gruner white type, as this actuator is not suitable for other motor variants
  • Check the boiler model against the fitment list above
  • Verify the part number 563901281 on the existing component or the manufacturer's parts list
  • Isolate the appliance from the electrical supply before fitting
