What it is
The Hamworthy Wet Section Assembly - Complete is a three-section casting assembly forming the heat exchanger body of the boiler. It is manufactured by Hamworthy for use in the Purwell Variheat range of floor standing appliances. The casting carries the waterways through which system water passes and absorbs heat from the combustion gases.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Visible water weeping or staining from the section joints or casting faces
- Persistent pressure loss on the sealed system with no external leak found elsewhere
- Internal corrosion or scale build-up restricting flow through the waterways
- Cracked or pitted casting surfaces identified during inspection
- Repeated gasket or joint failures at the section seals
Before you order
- Confirm the appliance model and that it is a Purwell Variheat floor standing unit
- Check the existing wet section is a three section casting before ordering
- Inspect associated gaskets, seals and fittings and replace where worn
- Confirm access and lifting arrangements, as the casting assembly is heavy
