What it is

The Altecnic 3/4 Vertical Dirt Separator is a system water treatment component from the Altecnic dirt and air separation range. It is designed to sit in the pipework of a heating system in a vertical orientation and capture dirt and sludge carried in the circulating water. Keeping solids out of the circuit protects pumps, valves and heat exchangers from abrasion and fouling.

Signs this part needs replacing

  • Dirt or black sludge is still reaching radiators, valves or the pump despite the separator being fitted
  • The separator no longer holds system pressure or shows visible leakage at the body or connections
  • System water remains discoloured after cleaning and flushing, indicating solids are passing through
  • Repeated blockages downstream of the separator point to a failed or saturated unit

Before you order

  • Confirm the 3/4 connection size matches the pipework at the intended installation point
  • Check there is sufficient vertical space for the separator body and any drain-off access
  • Verify the unit is compatible with the existing Altecnic dirt and air separation arrangement in the system
  • Confirm the system water has been cleaned and flushed as required before fitting
