What it is
The Altecnic Dirtmag IQ™ is a magnetic dirt separator for heating and system protection, supplied in a 28 mm vertical format. It captures magnetite and other suspended debris from circulating system water before it reaches the boiler, pump and heat emitters. This unit is identified by part number 546803.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Sludge or black iron oxide is visible in the system water or around the separator body
- The magnet is no longer holding captured debris, allowing it to pass downstream
- Reduced heat output or cold spots at radiators that persist after bleeding
- Weeping or drips from the body or from the compression connections
- Increased noise from the boiler or pump as debris circulates
Before you order
