What it is
The Altecnic Dirtmag XL is a dirt separator from the Dirtmag IQ™ range, supplied in a DN80 PN16 flanged configuration with insulation. It is installed in the heating circuit to remove magnetite and other suspended debris from the system water before it reaches the boiler and other components. The flanged connections allow it to be fitted into larger pipework runs.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Radiators warming unevenly or taking noticeably longer to reach temperature, indicating debris circulating in the system.
- Cold spots at the lower part of radiators, typical of magnetite settling in the system.
- Boiler or circulating pump noise associated with sludge and magnetite in the water.
- Dirty water or black deposits discharged when bleeding radiators or draining down.
Before you order
- Confirm the pipework flange size is DN80 and that the system pressure rating matches PN16.
- Check the installed unit is an Altecnic Dirtmag IQ™ and that the XL version suits the available space.
- Allow for the insulation when checking clearance around the flange connections and any adjacent pipework.
