What it is
The Altecnic Discal DN150 welded socket PN16 dirt and air separator is a combined dirt and air separation device for use in heating and plumbing systems. It removes trapped air and suspended dirt particles from the circulating water before they reach the boiler, pump or other system components. The unit has DN150 welded socket connections and a PN16 pressure rating.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Persistent air noise or gurgling in the system that bleeding does not resolve
- Radiators that heat unevenly or remain cold at the top despite balancing
- Sludge or black oxide deposits appearing in the system water or on strainers
- Circulating pump or boiler heat exchanger showing signs of dirt-related wear or blockage
- Visible corrosion, leakage or weeping from the separator body or connections
Before you order
- Confirm the pipework size is DN150 and that welded socket connections suit the installation
- Confirm the system pressure does not exceed the PN16 rating
- Check the available space and pipework orientation before ordering
- Verify the existing separator location and access for welding and servicing
