What it is

Signs this part needs replacing
- Reduced flow or a noticeable drop in heating performance across the system
- Cold spots at radiators despite the system being bled and balanced
- Heavy debris or magnetite found when the filter is serviced
- Repeated sludge build-up shortly after cleaning
- Water quality problems that continue after the filter has been emptied
