What it is
The pilot tube fitting is a compression nut and olive assembly supplied by Hamworthy for the pilot tube connection on SIT gas valves. It secures and seals the pilot gas feed at the valve body on Purwell permanent pilot floor standing appliances. The part carries the manufacturer reference 539001044.
Signs this part needs replacing
- A gas smell or detected leak at the pilot tube joint on the gas valve
- The pilot flame fails to establish or keeps going out after the connection is disturbed
- Visible corrosion, cracking or flattening of the olive
- The compression nut is rounded, seized or will not tighten down
