The Altecnic Prescal pressure reducing valve is a 3/4 connection valve with male x male threads and an integral pressure gauge. It is fitted on the incoming mains supply to hold the downstream pressure at a stable, reduced level. The gauge allows the set outlet pressure to be read directly at the valve.

• Outlet pressure drifts or creeps up above the set value, with the gauge confirming the rise.
• The pressure gauge reads erratically, sticks, or fails to return to zero.
• Banging, humming or water hammer through the pipework downstream of the valve.
• The relief valve or expansion arrangement discharges repeatedly because the reduced pressure is not being held.
• Flow through the valve drops noticeably, or the valve leaks from the body or gauge connection.
