What it is
The Hamworthy 533805014 is a flame probe (flame sensing electrode) used on Hamworthy Purwell and Warmwell fully automatic floor standing gas boilers. It sits in the burner flame path and signals the control board that a flame is present, allowing the boiler to continue firing. This is the shortened version, fitted from serial number 30000 onwards.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Boiler locks out shortly after ignition or on start-up
- Flame is established but the control board does not detect it
- Repeated lockouts requiring a manual reset
- Intermittent firing or the boiler cutting out during a demand
