What it is
This is a 100mm diameter flange gasket for the flow and return headers, supplied by Hamworthy under part number 531201133. It seals the joint between the header flange faces on Modumax floor standing boiler installations. The gasket is a service item intended to be renewed whenever the header connection is broken and remade.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Weeping or dripping at the header flange joint, particularly once the system is up to temperature
- Damp staining, corrosion or scale tracking around the flange faces
- A gasket that is flattened, cracked, brittle or deformed when the joint is opened
- Repeated pressure loss traced to the header connection
- Water present on the flange bolts or adjacent pipework after the joint has been disturbed
