What it is
The Hamworthy Base Door Gasket is a sealing gasket (also listed as an HE door seal) for the combustion door assembly on Hamworthy Purwell Variheat floor standing boilers. It seals the door face against the combustion chamber, keeping products of combustion within the appliance and preventing leakage at the door joint. The part carries the manufacturer part number 531201117.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Visible cracking, hardening or flattening of the gasket material
- Combustion readings that will not settle within the expected range at the door joint
- Soot streaking or discolouration around the door face
- A combustion door that has been removed and the gasket is no longer sealing evenly
Before you order
- Confirm the boiler model from the data badge against the fit list above
- Check the part number on the existing gasket or in the appliance documentation
- Inspect the door face and fixings for distortion before refitting the new gasket
- Allow the door and gasket to seat correctly, then re-check combustion readings after reassembly
