What it is
The air box to fan gasket is a Hamworthy sealing component, part number 531201103, that sits between the air box and the fan assembly on compatible boilers. It closes the joint between the two components so that air is drawn through the intended path and combustion air does not escape from the casing. The gasket is a service item and is typically renewed whenever the fan or air box is removed.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Visible cracking, hardening or flattening of the gasket material
- Soot tracking or staining around the air box to fan joint
- Whistling, humming or unusual noise from the fan area
- Combustion readings or flame picture that cannot be set correctly
- Gasket disturbed or damaged during fan or air box removal
Before you order
- Confirm the boiler model against the fit list above
- Check the part number 531201103 matches the item being removed
- Inspect the mating faces of the air box and fan for damage or distortion before refitting
- Allow the appliance to be reassembled and checked by a competent gas engineer
