What it is
The Buderus hot gas baffle top L.H. is an internal flue-way component measuring 680mm long, listed under part number 5265220. It sits in the upper left position of the heat exchanger passage, where it directs hot combustion gases across the heat transfer surfaces before they leave the appliance. Its role is to slow and route the flue gases so more heat is recovered into the system water rather than lost up the flue.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Visible corrosion, scaling or distortion on the baffle surface or edges
- Soot or heavy deposits building up in the upper flue-way around the baffle position
- Reduced heat recovery from the appliance, with flue gases leaving hotter than expected
- Baffle loose, misaligned or sitting incorrectly in its location
Before you order
- Confirm the appliance model and check whether the left hand or right hand baffle is required
- Compare the 680mm length against the baffle being removed before ordering
- Inspect the flue-way and adjacent baffles for damage or blockage at the same time
