What it is
The Valor coal bed is the fuel effect that sits in the firebox of a Valor gas fire, shaping the flame picture and the radiant look of the appliance. It is supplied as a Valor spare part for the models listed below. The coal bed forms part of the fire's visual and heat-presentation assembly, so it should be fitted in the layout the appliance was designed for.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Coals are cracked, chipped or broken, leaving gaps in the fuel bed layout
- The coal bed has been damaged during cleaning or servicing and no longer sits correctly in the firebox
- Heavy sooting or discolouration that cannot be cleaned back to an acceptable finish
- Parts of the bed are missing, so the flame picture no longer forms as intended
