What it is
A water hammer arrester manufactured for the Caleffi HIU range, part number 525131. It is specified for the SATK32 unit, where it absorbs the pressure surge created when flow stops suddenly. Its role is to damp the shock wave in the pipework rather than let it travel back through the appliance.
Signs this part needs replacing
- A loud bang or knock from the pipework when a valve or tap closes
- Repeated knocking or vibration in the pipework during or after draw-off
- Pressure surges or noise traced to the SATK32 installation
- Visible damage, corrosion or leakage at the arrester body or its connection
Before you order
- Confirm the appliance is a SATK32
- Check the existing part number against 525131
- Inspect the mounting point and connection for damage before fitting
