What it is
The Spark Generator is a piezo ignition unit supplied by Valor for use across a range of the manufacturer's gas appliances and boiler-based models. It generates the high-voltage spark at the burner or pilot assembly when the ignition button is pressed.
Signs this part needs replacing
- No spark at the burner or pilot when the ignition button is pressed
- Weak, intermittent or inconsistent spark that fails to light the gas
- Audible click from the piezo, but no ignition at the electrode
- Cracked or damaged piezo body, or a lead with visible damage
- Loose unit in its mounting, or a missing or corroded circlip
Before you order
- Confirm the appliance model number against the fits list above
- Check the existing lead length is suitable for the routing on the appliance (this unit is supplied with a 380mm lead)
- Inspect the electrode and its lead, as ignition faults are not always caused by the spark generator
- Check that the circlip fixing on the appliance is present and undamaged
