What it is

The Sime 5172700 is a main burner assembly intended for use in Sime gas boilers. It forms the primary combustion component, delivering the gas/air mixture across the burner surface for ignition and sustained flame. It is listed under gas boiler spares in the burner category.

Signs this part needs replacing

  • Flame lifts, becomes uneven, or fails to carry across the full burner surface
  • Visible corrosion, cracking, or distortion of the burner body or its ports
  • Soot deposits or localised hot spots indicating blocked or damaged burner ports
  • Repeated ignition faults or flame failure lockouts traced to the burner
  • Combustion readings outside the expected range after servicing other gas components

Before you order

  • Confirm the boiler model and serial details against the manufacturer's parts list
  • Check the existing burner assembly for damage or blockage before condemning it
  • Verify that the fault is not caused by gas valve, ignition, or air supply components
  • Confirm the part number 5172700 matches the number on the existing burner
