What it is
The Altecnic 1/2 M/F 6 bar Safety Relief Valve is a pressure-limiting safety device used in boiler and pressurised heating systems. It opens at a pre-set 6 bar to discharge excess pressure and protect the appliance and system components. The valve body has a 1/2 inch male inlet and a 1/2 inch female outlet connection.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Water weeping or dripping continuously from the discharge outlet with the system at normal pressure
- System pressure rising above the 6 bar set point without the valve discharging
- The valve failing to reseat and close after it has operated
- Scale, corrosion or debris visible around the valve seat or outlet
