What it is

The 1300mm brush rod is a Potterton Commercial cleaning accessory for the NXR3i range of commercial boilers. It is used to sweep the flueways and heat exchanger surfaces, clearing soot and combustion deposits so heat transfer is not restricted. The part number for this item is 5140672.

Signs this part needs replacing

  • Bristles are splayed, flattened or missing, so the flueways are no longer swept cleanly
  • The brush head has worked loose from the rod or no longer holds its shape
  • The rod is bent, kinked or corroded to the point where it will not pass through the flueways
  • Deposits are not being lifted during cleaning and combustion readings stay outside the expected range
  • The brush is badly contaminated with hardened soot that cannot be cleaned out

Before you order

  • Confirm the appliance is a Potterton Commercial NXR3i and note the section count
  • Check the existing brush rod measures 1300mm so the replacement matches the flueway length
  • Confirm the brush head and rod are the parts being replaced, not an associated cleaning accessory
  • Have the appliance model and part number 5140672 to hand when ordering
