What it is

The Potterton 3-Way Valve Luna SAT RB is a diverter valve used in Potterton Commercial boiler assemblies. It directs water flow between the heating circuit and the domestic hot water circuit according to demand. This valve is supplied under Potterton part number 5138697.

Signs this part needs replacing

  • Heating circuit warms up when only hot water is demanded, or hot water runs cold when heating is called for
  • Radiators reach temperature during a hot water cycle instead of the cylinder or combi outlet
  • Valve motor runs but the valve body does not change position, leaving the boiler stuck in one mode
  • Water weeping from the valve spindle or body joints
  • Boiler locks out or reports a flow or diverter fault after a demand change

Before you order

  • Confirm the appliance model against the fitment list for this valve
  • Check the existing valve part number or markings against 5138697
  • Verify whether the fault lies with the valve body or the actuator head before ordering
  • Confirm the system type and pipework connections match the valve being removed
