What it is
The Altecnic Safety Relief Valve is a pressure-relieving safety device for heating and boiler installations. It opens at a set pressure of 2.5 bar to discharge excess system pressure, protecting the appliance and pipework from over-pressurisation. The valve body carries 1" and 1 1/4" female connections.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Water weeping or discharging from the valve outlet when the system is below the set pressure
- System pressure failing to hold, requiring frequent topping up
- Visible scale, corrosion or debris around the valve seat or outlet
- Valve failing to lift and discharge when system pressure rises above 2.5 bar
- Damp or staining beneath the discharge pipe indicating continuous passing
