What it is
The Altecnic 513460 is a 1/2" female/female safety relief valve set to open at 6 bar. It is fitted to boiler and heating systems to discharge water when system pressure exceeds the set pressure, protecting the appliance and its components from over-pressurisation.
Signs this part needs replacing
- The valve drips or discharges continuously while system pressure is below 6 bar
- System pressure rises above 6 bar without the valve opening
- Scale or debris is visible at the valve outlet or seat
- The discharge pipe runs constantly, indicating the seat is not sealing
- The pressure gauge shows repeated over-pressurisation despite correct filling
Before you order
- Confirm the connection size and thread type match the existing valve — this part is 1/2" female x female
- Check the set pressure required for the appliance; this valve is rated at 6 bar
- Verify the part number against the manufacturer's parts list for your model
