What it is
The Baxi 5129429 is an ignition lead, also known as an HT lead, rated at 1 kOhm. It forms part of the ignition circuit on Baxi gas boilers, carrying the high-tension spark from the ignition generator to the spark electrode at the burner. The lead is supplied as a Baxi spare and is used across the Platinum 2 and Duo-tec 2 appliance families.
Signs this part needs replacing
- The boiler attempts to fire but does not ignite and goes to lockout
- No spark is visible at the electrode when the ignition sequence runs
- Ignition is intermittent, with repeated lockouts over several starts
- The lead insulation is cracked, brittle, scorched or otherwise heat-damaged
- Arcing or tracking is visible along the length of the lead or at its connectors
