What it is
The Baxi 5118905 is the outer case assembly for Baxi Solo HE condensing boilers. It forms the outer enclosure of the appliance, covering the internal components and providing the finished front panel that the boiler presents in the installation. As a casing assembly it is a structural and protective part rather than a gas-carrying component.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Visible cracks, splits or deformation in the casing panel
- Scorching, discolouration or heat damage to the outer surface
- Casing no longer seating squarely on the appliance or failing to locate on its fixings
- Corrosion or paint loss along the edges and fixing points
- Damage sustained during handling, servicing or removal of the case
Before you order
- Confirm the appliance model and its GC number against the compatibility list before ordering
- Check the part number on the existing casing where it is still legible, as the alternative number 1118608 may appear on some listings
- Verify that the casing fixings and any seals on the appliance are serviceable before refitting
