What it is
The Potterton 5117673 wiring harness is a pre-formed electrical loom that connects the limit thermostat, flue thermostat and fan within the appliance. It is supplied by Potterton for use across the Promax boiler and Promax Store cylinder ranges. The harness carries the control and safety signals between these components and the boiler's main wiring.

- The fan fails to run or runs intermittently with no obvious mechanical fault
- Limit thermostat or flue thermostat faults recur after the sensors themselves have been checked
- Overheat lockouts or flue-related fault codes appear on the boiler display
- Visible damage to the loom: chafed insulation, scorched or brittle wiring, or exposed conductors
- Loose, corroded or heat-damaged connector terminals at the thermostat or fan plugs
