What it is
The Potterton 5117670 wiring harness is a multi-way electrical loom that connects the pump, diverter valve and gas valve to the boiler's control system. It is used across the Potterton Promax range of combi and store appliances. The harness carries the control and feedback signals for these three components, so a fault in the loom can affect heating, hot water and valve sequencing together.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Pump, diverter valve or gas valve failing to run or operating intermittently with no fault in the component itself
- Intermittent faults that change when the loom or its plugs are moved
- Overheating, discoloured or brittle insulation on the harness connectors
- Error codes relating to pump, diverter valve or gas valve that clear and return
- Loose, corroded or damaged plug terminals at any of the three connections
