What it is

The Baxi expansion vessel with storage, part number 5113000, is a pressure-control component used in Baxi and Potterton gas boilers. It absorbs changes in system water volume as the heating circuit heats and cools, helping to maintain stable operating pressure. This version is listed for the appliance models shown below.

Signs this part needs replacing

  • Boiler pressure rises significantly when heating is on and falls when the system cools
  • Frequent need to top up system pressure
  • Water discharging from the pressure relief valve
  • Visible corrosion, dampness or water at the expansion vessel connection
  • Pressure instability remains after the system has been checked for other leaks

Before you order

  • Confirm the boiler make and model against the Fits list
  • Check the existing vessel is marked with part number 5113000 or matches the product type
  • Confirm the system has been checked for leaks and pressure loss from other causes before replacing the vessel
  • Isolate and drain the boiler or system as required before removal
