What it is

The Baxi 5106746 is an overheat thermostat kit intended for Solo PF appliances. It forms part of the boiler's safety and temperature control circuit, cutting the burner when the sensed temperature rises beyond the designed limit. The kit is listed under the thermostats, thermistors and sensors spare part group and is supplied by Baxi as a replacement assembly for the original factory item.

Signs this part needs replacing

  • The boiler locks out or shuts down shortly after the burner fires, with the overheat condition recurring on each reset.
  • Repeated manual resets are needed to restore heating or hot water, and the fault returns once the appliance reaches temperature.
  • The appliance runs for a short period and then goes to a permanent lockout rather than modulating down normally.
  • The thermostat or its sensing lead shows visible damage, corrosion or a loose connection at the terminal.
  • Temperature control becomes erratic, with the boiler cycling more often than usual or failing to hold the set flow temperature.

Before you order

  • Confirm the appliance model and, where shown, the GC number from the data badge so the correct thermostat variant is selected.
  • Check the part number printed on the existing thermostat or its wiring harness against BAXI5106746 before removing anything.
  • Inspect the sealing washers, gaskets and retaining clips on the existing sensor pocket and replace them if they are compressed or perished.
